How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before the transfer, I could spend most of my time doing piece works which was not good for my health. After receiving my transfer, I no longer over work. I also have enough food than before.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GD is doing very well in providing unconditional cash transfers. As a recipient, I make choices of my own on how I will spend my transfer on. I also received a phone and sim card which I couldn't manage to buy on my own.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My second transfer was spent on a couple of things. When I received my first transfer, I bought some bags of maize which was not enough and I used the second transfer to buy food to add up on what I bought. I also bought doors, I also settled some debts that I had previously. I have also mould bricks and I will start building my house anytime soon.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
This money is a blessing to my family because it means we will be able to buy a mattress and no longer sleep on the floor and buy blankets and fix our roof so our house doesn't experience leakages during the rainy season. I also want to start a small business selling food
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is when I'm with my family chatting after a long day of work
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I've experienced in my life is not having enough food to feed my family
