How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has greatly changed with transfer from givedirectly because now i have bought enough maize for food for the rest of the year and i am already prepared for growing season with fertilizer which i believe will give me more harvest. In addition i have built a new house which i will put iron sheet roof and my children are now well dressed with school uniforms. This has been possible with transfer from givedirectly hence my life is now different
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly has made future for us poor people here. We had nothing to depend on for our day to day living except subsistence farming. Our lives have been miserable and pathetic. Today people have know how to sleep on a matress, how to drink tea, how to dress well and live in good houses because of givedirectly. So to me all was well and i am grateful for such initiative
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my transfer on school uniforms for my 3 children who are at school at MK5600 each, 2 bags of fertilizer at MK33000 each for applying crops in my field, paid artisans who built my house money amount to MK65000, 5 bags of maize for food at MK8500 each, kitchen utensils at MK11800, 3 blankets two at MK18000 each and one at MK20000, 2 hoes, for tilling in my field, at MK3500 each and saved part for day to day expenses
