How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No, I didn't have new goals.except the old one of building my house and starting a garden.. I planned to buy gas to burn the farm after the power saw has fell the trees, pay for sawed planks, buy house materials, pay some of my children school fees, and pay workmanship to the carpenter building the house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly do well by bringing the program to our town and making their field officers to talk to us good and they are always coming to make sure we receive our money on time. GiveDirectly thank you so much.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Owning a decent and well furnished house is what receiving this money means to me. My spouse and I built this house about six years ago, but due to the kind of low quality materials that was used, it started to depreciate very early. Two years ago, we started experiencing leakage from the roof and some parts of the wall have fallen due to the heavy storms and water. We have to spread out our cooking utensils and change the position of our matress every time it rains. I feel very sad every time we are faced with this situation because my children always have sleepless nights in the cold which sometimes makes them sick. I intend to use a portion of this cash transfer to construct a decent and more spacious house that will be able to accommodate us. I will use the rest to buy new mattresses and furnitures to make it look more beautiful and attractive.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What brought me joy and happiness in the last six months is the health of my spouse. My spouse fell sick about a year ago and was taken to a herbalist in another county because his condition was very critical. I was so worried because he is the sole breadwinner of our family; I do not have any means of earning an income. I have been really struggling to meet our basic needs. Two months ago, I received a call that he is gradually responding to treatment. I was so overjoyed because I strongly believe that he is on his way to full recovery.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The greatest challenge that I am currently facing is food security. My spouse who was the sole breadwinner of our family fell ill about a year ago. I do not have any means of earning an income which makes it very difficult for me to provide food for my children. We always do not have enough to eat which cause us to sometimes seek help from family members and friends. I feel very sad every time I have to reach out to others to beg for assistance to feed my family.
