How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Apart from making more money now from the profits I make out of my improved irrigation method,I have a better, bigger house. There is privacy now, something my family was missing when we had a very squeezed house hosting all the family members even my elder children who had become of age and were still sharing a bed.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal is to lease more land for my vegetable farming. This will enable me to expand my markets and target larger institutions like schools, hospitals since I will be producing more. These are ready markets and always needs constant supplies which I will be able to provide given that I have a water pump and I do not have to hire or even wait for the rains that are very unpredictable as we experience the conventional type of rainfall that is seasonal and relyin on it is not easy and sometimes not successful.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
My income has increased. I am happy. I am a horticultural farmer and hiring of equipment was so expensive and most of the time I could plant, this means I could harvest late too when the markets are so flooded and I have to lower my prices. It never earned me much at the time. The biggest difference I have in my current life is that I have my own water pump that has seen me increase my profits too. I do not have to wait for the rains and I have been harvesting right on time now. I have also managed to expand my markets and my vegetables are always ready for markets any time any day. My family is leading a more comfortable life now as I am able to afford more of their basic needs something I have struggled to meet from the additional profits I have been making now.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I still stick to seeing my farming improvements earn me more profits. This will change my life as I will be able to comfortably afford my family needs, something I have been struggling to do. This will be great for my family and me too.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Previously I only had two paddocks of the horticultural farm but receiving this transfer,I expanded it to two more. This has brought me more profits in my daily life because I am able to harvest more. My family is also happy about the changes they are seeing happening.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months,I expect my life too more comfortable as I will be getting tenders to supply vegetables to institutions as I will be producing in large quantities after purchasing the water irrigating pump.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Were it not for GiveDirectly,I could still be struggling with my two paddocks which was so small.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
My new goal is to buy a water irrigation machine. This will help in irrigating my farm and I do have to worry of the outcome even during drought. This means more profits regardless of the seasons.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I faced in life is owning a house. We have live in a very house with a family of five. It is a single roomed house where we sleep together with my children. No privacy at night, no space for the members and low self esteem. Building a more spacious house has been a challenge due to overwhelming family needs. It has been hard.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am done with the day's activities. I get time to story with my wife and children as we take meals. I am very happy during those moments.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I plan to spend my transfer on improving farming. I do vegetable farming but during dry seasons I faced the challenge of watering the farm. I am going to buy a water pump so that I keep constant farming and supply of vegetables to broaden my income. My crop production will increase and I supply nearby schools and nearby markets. I believe that my living condition will improve.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am proudest of is getting married. I took along time before married and every woman I approached would turn me down. When my current wife accepted me it was a great achievement in my life. We live peacefully and God has blessed us with three children. I am very proud of her.
