How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The GiveDirectly cash transfers empowered me to construct a nice two roomed house. I Previously, I used to sleep under a leaking thatched house. I am sleep comfortably without any worries. Before I received the cash transfers, I used to sleep in a leaking thatched house that was hard to maintain. I used to roll u my bedding whenever it rained and it was a very embarrassing moment. I am very grateful to GiveDirectly for sending us the cash transfers.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, I appreciate GiveDirectly for helping the needy people. The cash transfers have personally benefited my family. GiveDirectly does well to sensitize the communities on how to spend their cash transfers.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
My second cash transfer was spent on purchasing iron sheets, timbers , metalic door for the completion of the house. I also paid the builders with part of the cash transfer.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The cash transfers have brought one of the greatest achievements in my life in that I constructed an iron roofed house. Moreso, this transfer saved my life. I developed a complication in my uterus and the condition was worsening each day. I thank GiveDirectly for the cash transfer because I was able to get medical attention on time.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer, I felt happy because it was my first time to receive such a big amount of money at once.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 1,000,000 of my first transfer for constructing an iron roofed house and the balance of UGX 700,000 for clearing medical bills. I had an operation and my uterus had to be removed due to complications.

The happiest part of the day is evening hours. It's a time normally I spend with my spouse interracting how to take care of our family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of money for buying land to farm.
