What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on starting a sardines business for 10,000 KES which is picking , cleared school fee arrears for my child who is in fourth form for 7,000 KES, saved 20,000 KES towards his Training charges in case he passes well and also spent 10,000 KES on dry corn and assorted food items.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy a cow that I am planning to start rearing. I also spent part of the transfer to pay school fees for my son who is secondary school. I am happy he is able to attend to his classes. I have also saved some of the that I use to buy food for my children daily.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have got some ease in paying school fees for my son. I do not have to bag my relatives to ask for money for school fees. I am happy and grateful to GiveDirectly.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on purchasing a goat as an investment of part of the money and also as a legacy of the good work done by GiveDirectly in my village. The remaining portion of my transfer was spent on purchasing food stuff for my family. It a period of hunger and drought that had made food a very scarce and expensive resource that very few could afford.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so good when I received my transfer as it was the only source of hope of acquiring food during this period of hunger.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face in my life currently is on school fees since I have two students in secondary school. There is hard economic situation I sometimes get money but because the needs are so many,it gets finished before I meet most of my needs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the is during the day because I meet different people and I interact with them and this gives joy.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means a lot to me. I will change from the small scale business that I do and have a sustainable business that will change my life and help me to meet the daily needs of the family viz: clothings,food and even healthwise.
