How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is very different than before, now am home taking care of my family unlike before I used to walk around the village looking for casual jobs for sustainability.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Giving us unconditional money is the best thing that ever happened since we know what we need in one particular.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my transfer on a cow which I am milking right now.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the transformation in my homestead. New house being being built, enough food and new clothes for us. We now have a different appearance as a homestead and we are grateful to Give Directly.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I have never received such an amount of cash all my life. This was my first time ever. I was so happy and excited when I received Give Directly cash transfer.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
The first transfer that I received from Give Directly really helped us. We spent it on building materials such as iron sheets and wooden frames. We have been living in a thatched house with a leaking roof and we really needed a new house. We are grateful we are building it courtesy of Give Directly. We will be able to buy some furniture too because we do not have them. We also bought food using the funds and we are well feed. We used to struggle with casual work. At times we would lack work and go hungry especially during rainy seasons because of flooding, hence inability to go to nearby villages due to difficulty in crossing flooded rivers. We have enough food and clothes now and we are so grateful. Thank you for the funds.
