How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am Makulah Konneh from Weimah town, Bomi county Liberia. I planned to renovate my house, buy food, pay my grandchildren school fees and start a very good business to sustain myself and family after Givedirectly cash transfer program.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly Staffs are respectful and they don't accept gift from people nor request gift from anyone. I am not aware of anything that Givedirectly didn't do well in this village. I am so excited and want to extend thanks to Givedirectly and those that have contributed in helping me move from one level to another.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Upon cashing out my money, I bought two bundles of zinc, mattress, did payment of my grandchildren tuition, food, and started business.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I planned to used portion of my transfer towards my children education. Imagine been a widow and at the same time catering to 10 children is not easy. When I see my children in school, I will try to purchase a plot of land to build in Monrovia for my children to stay while going to school. Altogether. One of my daughter died from the Ebola virus in 2014 and she left 7 children behind including my 3 and I am the only one responsible for all of them. I believe when my children are educated, they will be a great help to me in the future.
What is the happiest part of your day?
During the Muslims Ramadan day, I was really happy because God save my life. Another day I was happy was when my sister children give me 1 bad of 25KG rice. I have the rice inside there and is almost to finish so I am now worry how I can get cash to buy additional food for the household.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My main challenge is finance to take care of my children and grandchildren. My husband death is God willing so I can't say is a challenge because I have to live with it. Imagine single woman catering to 10 children in the absence of financial support is a great challenge. Food is also a challenge for me because I am not employed, I only depend on Labor marketing to earn cash to catered to my children and grandchildren.
