How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Through this financial support I have been in position to continue with the construction of our commercial house that had stopped due to limited funds. I have already acquired the needed iron sheets for roofing, I believe next year the house will be complete because I would have got some money for finishing when I sell the bricks that I am making now. Secondly, I was able to settle the debts I had incurred for building. Once the house is complete, I expect to operate a business on my side and sleep on the other side which will relieve me from the burden of renovating my current hut.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well to give me cash that I spent to continue with the construction of our commercial house and treating my children. I have not observed anything wrong with GivDirectly.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my transfer to purchase 30 pieces of iron sheets, paid off a debt and treatment. My spouse took UGX 500,000 from me.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.

The moment I recieved my money, I became very happy because I had got money to help me complete my house and pay school fees for my child.

What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the morning when my children wake up healthy. I dont have to budget for medical bills.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is maintaining a family. Treatment, feeding and all other basic needs have to be provided and yet there is no income generating activity in which to raise money. Life is just a struggle.
