How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Me and my family's everyday life has changed since i got the transfer from Givedirectly because my house has been in bad shape for a very long time and i never imagined that i would be able to renovate it, so we the coming of support from Givedirectly i managed to rebuild it and it is in good shape now.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I believe Givedirectly does well by enrolling everyone who is eligible into the program, and i think it can improve its process by increasing the number of transfers that we receive may be up to 3 times.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt relieved and thankful. Our life has been full of struggles in many areas but this money has enabled us to improve our standard of living and meet needs that we were lacking before. We can now afford a smile each day as our lives have improved.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference would be the mood of everyone in the fanily is now very good than before when we could not eat properly. Sometimes we could go the whole day without eating and save the best meal for the evenings which was hard to do and accept. Now we are eating well and no longer complaining.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
The first transfers that l received from Give Directly, I have used a big part of it to renovate my house. Our area usually experiences strong winds and rains hence buying iron sheets and cement will add more strength to the house than it was before. Part of the money has also gone towards food and mattress. We used to have less than 3 meals per day but now we are no longer worried about what to eat and no longer complaining of back pains when we wake up since we are now sleeping comfortably on matress.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Am happy to be enrolled in the project. There are alot of things that am lacking in my household. My house leaks and finding food to eat is not easy since am old. I will use the money to buy iron sheets to renovate my house which is thatched with grass. I will also buy food and a matress. If I will have some more money, I will buy chickens to raise for food.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest whenever I have enough food to eat with grandchildren.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main hardship I face is finding pieces of work to make money and food. I depend on casual labor. During the farming season, I work in other people's farms. When the farming season ends, I just eat what I have remaining which is not enough. I also find it hard to buy new clothes since I do not have money most of the times.
