How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than how it would have been had I not received the transfer because I am now a proud owner of a dairy cow. Before, I used to pay KES 1000 monthly for milk and I am glad that this will soon stop being the case. My cow will soon give birth and I will not only stop buying milk but also earn some income through the sale of surplus.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well in all aspects of their operations and I do not see anything that they do not do well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent KES 45000 from my transfer to pay school for my spouse. We settled on this as a family since we had stayed for a long time without paying for his school fees. I am now glad that we do not owe the university a lot of money and my spouse will be able to sit for his examinations. On the remaining amount, I bought some clothes for my children and food to last us for some time.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I received a message notification to my phone, I was curious to know it's content and to my surprise I had received Kes 55000 from GiveDirectly. I jumped up and down thankful for the transfers. I had alot in mind but I chose to take sometime to plan for it so as to change my life for good.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have a new breed in my stock and this make feel so happy. Whenever I go out to the field to look after the cattle, am filled with joy and happiness having acquired one more cow which shall mean more milk production after it calves down in a few months.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Before, I was rearing local breeds of cows and when I received the transfers, I spent kes25000 on buying a crossbreed heifer to add to my stock. I chose these to help me increase in milk production once it starts lactating. I then spent another amount on buying a chain link wire for fencing around my compound so as to confine chicken from straying to my neighbor's farm. I also added some chicken to the clock which I had before. Lastly, I bought se food items for the family and some clothes for my family members.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I will use this money to buy chicken wire and to build a modern poultry house. I had started rearing chicken but they were foraging from one place to another, therefore they created a major conflict between neighbors and I. They were destroying neighbour's crops. My plan now is to buy a chicken wire so that I control chicken movements.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am very happy in the morning because this is the time when I am still fresh and determined to complete all planned activities for the day. As I started off my day things starts changing because some tasks are harder and tiresome therefore leaving no with happiness.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship I have faced is getting pregnant at the first year in high school. I had to discontinued my studies for a while as I waited for delivery. Things was not good because I had pressure from school, parents and friends.
