Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life ever since Give Directly came into my life is that I am happier and ambitious in life. I regained my hope when I received the money knowing that I will accomplish my goal of buying a piece of land. I have been staying with my grandparents and this has never be comfortable for me since my uncles would always fight me because of land issues. They thought I would inherit my grandparents' piece of land and reduce the sizes of land they would inherit if I was not there. I am happy I am no longer a threat to them anymore. I am now awaiting my second transfer so that I will put together with my savings and spent it to buy my own piece of land where I will build a home for myself and my children.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I woke up in the morning and when I looked at my phone I found a messaged from Give Directly indicating I had received my transfer. I was surprised to get a balance of KES 55000 in my Mpesa account. I felt so happy as I had never handle such an amount before.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent KES 1700 of my transfers on purchasing maize for consumption since I had no money for buying food. I felt buying in bulk was cheaper and would last longer. I have saved the remaining KES 53000, to with an intention of buying a piece of land. I thank Give Directly for enabling me to do this because I will finally acquire an asset.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means i will be able to buy a small piece of land since i own none. I will then use the remaining part of the transfer to build a house of my own and also buy a dairy cow which will in turn produce milk for my family's consumption as well as selling some to earn a source of income
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when i arrive home from work carrying food for my children. I always have a hard time working in peoples farms during the day in order to earn some little money to buy food for my children and whenever i achieve that, i feel proud.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My siblings and i were left ophans five years ago when my parents died after ailing from cancer. We sold out all our land in order to pay their medical bills which was a double loss for us. My aunt gave me this small hut to live in with my children. I do not own any piece of land myself to practice farming and this has forced me to engage in casual labour which entails working in people's farms to fend for my family. This is the biggest hardship im facing in life.
