No source of incomes, No financial support coming from anywhere not even family, but when Givedirectly appeared into our lives, things has gotten into shaped. What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am a single mother who is still renting. The cost for one month's rent here is 1000LD is a little over 7 USD, if I rent for one year, I will be paying 12,000LD which is 80 USD per year, I have been living in a rental house for 5 years now, that means, I have spent 400USD for rent up today. That amount can build me a house but I don't have a sustainable source of income, I usually go to the bush to buy dry meat and other things to sell. I am very tired of this renting business, so I will use my transfer to buy a plot of land to build myself a 3 bedroom apartment and that will bring joy to my life.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The only thing I can remember that brought me you or happiness was my birthday celebration on the 13th of December 2021. I was excited when friends and family members placed numerous calls and text me birthday wishes. One of my brothers from my father who has not called me for a very long time called me that day, so I am very happy because we got reconnected during my birthday.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have 2 children who are living with my mother in fish town. I am the only person responsible for their education and feeling. My mother is a sustained farmer and she also depends on me for basic needs, she bored 7 children and I am the only person out of high school, the rest are still in school, that means I have lots to do, so my main challenge is financing to sustain my family and me.
