How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I plan to build a house and I also plan to buy motor bike to do a business.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In the past years, I have been sleeping on the floor because, I could not afford money to buy a mattress on my own. After receiving this money from give directly, I was able to buy a very big mattress and I am very comfortable with it. I am so happy and want to tell give directly thinks.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
Jonah, I was the most happiest person on the entire earth. Things were so difficult for us, even if we try to get food for the family, the food will not be enough for us. I am very happy because, we will be able to get enough food now.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My biggest difference, I am getting old now, I wanted to start a business of my own but I don't have the cash. With this transfer, I will be able to start a new market and build a new house for my grandchildren. I will now reduce the hard work making garden and will have more testing time.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was able to buy a brand new mattress for the first time in my entire life. I also bought food for the children and saved portion of the transfer to build a house for my grandchildren. The house we in now is small to contain everyone.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I am successful to receive the cash, I will build another house in town here. This is because the house I am in now has only three rooms. My children in two while my husband and I in the other room. And the children are grown up children that got their wives, it is not socially good for they and myself to be in the same house. In addition, most time when my grand children come here, they don't have additional rooms in the house for them to sleep. As the result, I can go out in the community asking friends for rooms so they will sleep in. And for me, that is embarrassing.
I ha e had a plan long g time to build another house, but it is just difficult to raise the money. My husband is old and not able again to do any woek so that we raise money for the project. While the garden work I do only provide us food the home when sell it. I am not able to save any money for the project from the sale of the products from the garden.
So, if we are successful to receive the cash, it will be a huge opportunity for me to realise my plans.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am very happy for the fact that GIVEDIRECTLY is here and promised to give us money when we tell them the true. That alone makes me happy even if I have never been happy before.
This is because since I known myself as a mature person , I have never heard or seen any NGO give free money to people. GIVEDIRECTLY is the very first NGO do promised that. So I am very happy for that.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The major challenge for me here is how to raise money to provide for me and my husband . Like I mentioned, my husband is old. And myself too, I am not able to do any physical work that will earn me money. In other words, all the work here that can give people money are all physical work. So it very difficult to raise money since I am not able to do those works.
