How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The increment in transportation from our village to Monrovia is rising day-by-day. Just to purchase household materials entail a whole lot of expensive and it's challenging given our status as farmers. My husband and I bought two bundles of zinc and started new business with our intial transfer. Our new goal is to purchase a new motorbike meant to ease the transportation stress for us to transport our goods to and fro.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
As for me, since I woke up in life, this is the very first time to see organisation giving out money and I want to tell them thank you. Givedirectly is doing well by giving us money to help ourselves because some of us don't have father and mother. I would love for them to continue and may God richly bless them in their activities.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My most recent transfer was given to my husband in addition to what we been saving for us to purchase new motorbike intended to ease the transport stress associated with the movement of to and fro Monrovia.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I receive this money I will use some to start a business and use the balance to build a house on the land I have in Monrovia for my children which will bring me so much joy. I was doing a business which was maintaining my family but my business collapse when I got seriously sick in 2017 and I was taken to the sick bush for traditional treatment. Since I recovered from sick bed, I burn coal in order to sustain my family but the money I earn from the charcoal i burn is not enough to maintain my family because of that, I send some of my children to live with some of my relatives in Monrovia.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, what has brought me joy or happiness is when my sister called me in the month of August 2021 that she gives birth safely to a girl child which brought so much joy and happiness because doctor told her that she will go under surgery but by the help of God she gives birth safely.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardships I'm facing now is money. I want to start a business and build a house in Monrovia but I don't have money. Although I was making business to sustain my family but my business collapse in 2017 when I got seriously sick. After I recovered I started burning charcoal in order to sustain my family but the money I earn from the Charcoal I burn is not enough to build a house and start a business.
