The house that I live in currently is very small to host my entire family and friends. Thus, I have decided to build a bigger and spacious house. In so doing, I purchased enough building materials with my recent transfer to immediately complete my house project. I am very pleased with this awesome opportunity given me by GiveDirectly.

The various methods employed by GiveDirectly in selecting qualified household to benefit from this program is unparalleled. With these transfers, my life has improved tremendously. I see nothing that GD is not doing quite well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
As soon as I received my recent transfer, I purchased 3 bundles of zinc ($31,500LD) to roof my house. I also used portion of my transfer to purchase 1 carton of zinc nail and mixed nails for the completion of my new house. It is amazing to see how much my dreams have come close to reality with GD's financial assistance.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I got divorced about six years ago and since then I have to struggle alone to take care of all the needs of my children. As a single mother in this part of the country life is not easy, me and my children have to sleep in one room. Receiving this cash transfer from GiveDirectly will enable me to build my house, where my children will have their own room and when rain falls my roof will no longer leak. I will used some portion of the money to pay the balance tuition that I'm owing the school and start my business, where I will be able to save some money for hospital bills.
What is the happiest part of your day?
When my husband divorced me I felt all was over in life! Seeing my children well and healthy every day is a source of happiness for me, not to mention being part of GiveDirectly program makes me happier. Atleast I will be able to do all the things that I'm plaining to do when I get this money from GiveDirectly.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Life is not always easy in this interior. As I speak to you now I'm gradually losing my eyes sight, when the sun comes out I can be unable to see clearly. I have three children and we are sleeping in the same room, when the rain falls we have sleepless night because the roof can be leaking harvily. As a single mother I want all of my children to be educated so that they can be of help to me in the future but I don't have money so it is a really difficult things for me to do.
