How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My desire was to one day build a bigger and spacious house. Hence, I began my house project when I received my previous transfer. Meanwhile, with my recent transfer, I will be able to complete my building project by purchasing 2 bundles of zinc, 10 bags of cement, 1 carton of zinc nails and wood etc.... These materials will be used to roof my entire house and put floor .
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
It amazes me to see an Organization like GiveDirectly that gives out huge amount of money as goodwill. GD has impacted my life positively through their great financial assistance. I am very grateful.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I received my recent transfer, I bought 2 bundles of zinc ($22,000LD) and zinc nails to roof my house. Portion of my transfer was also used to purchase 10 bags of cement to plaster my house and put floor. My balance money was used as transportation. I am so pleased with this program. My life has improved immensely.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was home when I received my transfer message on my phone. I was excited to get this amount on my account. I have never received a help like this. Especially at my old age time. You have taking care of my family support. I will forever appreciate you GiveDirectly. Thank you so much.

My children are in school. This year is a complete change for my family life. Just from the first money, I am getting fat and clear.

With this transfer from GiveDirectly, i bought bags of cement and sand to improved my house. I never been able to work hard any more to get much money to be able to improved my house and build a latrine and sent some money for my children school fees.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"I have face so many challenges in this village, I was excited when I saw one of my son graduating from high school. When I received this money from GiveDirectly I will used portion of it to send my son to the university. I will put some money aside to docorate my house and make it look more decent, and the balance money will be used to support my family."
What is the happiest part of your day?
"In the last six months only joy has been the present of GiveDirectly in our village today. It last I am hopeful of being a part on GiveDirectly program."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"Life is very difficult in this village and the challenges are increasing on a daily basis. I am now facing Eye problem, I can not see clearly and there is no money to go for treatment. My foot is really hurting, I can not walk well and this problem has led to me not making large farm and this has resulted into lack of food. Financial problem is seriously increasing."
