What did you spend your third transfer on?
When I received my third transfer, I invested 10000 KES in a grocery-selling tomatoes, onions and kales and paid school fees for my son in a secondary school with the rest. As we talk, I am in the market in my grocery and I am very proud that I have attained my dream of living a better life-eating well with less stress.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer because, our health has improved since we eat daily and never go minus food as opposed to before when I couldn't afford a square meal due to lack of income. The transfer has plummeted the level of my household stress since we are able to afford most of our basic needs.Educating my children was that had task before I received transfers from Give Directly and most of the time, they could stay at home while the rest could be in school learning. I am glad that things are no longer the same courtesy of Give Directly- I am able to clear for them the whole year school fees.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my own opinion, what Give Directly did well was giving us a grant-money that we never needed to return so we were able to spend it with a lot of courage and freedom but they never did it well by not putting the grant as a long-term basic income since we would be glad to received a monthly income of as low as 1000 KES to sustain our lives for a longer period.
