How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No, my goal has always been to build a new house. Because my current house is too old and it is made of thatch roof that leaks when it rains. I have been living in this old house with my wife and four children. But the house is no longer comfortable for us. So, when I got my Iast transfer, I used it to purchase three bundles of zinc to began the construction of a new house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well for my family and I by giving me money to buy more things to start the construction of a new house. It is something that I find well for me. Because I was never expecting such a money that I did not work for. From day one, all that I have heard or seen about GD is good and well for me. And I want to say a big thanks to GD for the level of improvement that this unexpected help has done in my life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my last transfer on the purchase of three bundles of zinc. It has always been my plan to build a new house. The house that my family and I currently live in is too old and not in good condition anymore. And I have been thinking of ways to get money to construct a new one. But due to no money, I have not been able. Until I got on GD's direct cash transfer program which has empowered me enough to buy more things for my house construction.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I've been longing to raise enough money so that I could register my children in school for this academic year. Therefore, as soon as I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I used almost all the transfer to pay my children school fees. I am very excited having been able to register all of my children this school year.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before this transfer, we were really suffering as a family. And as a father and head of the home, many days I went to bed with sorrow and pain in my heart because I couldn't do anything to help my family. Since I started receiving payment from GiveDirectly, waking up every morning and seeing my children prepare for school, has been the biggest difference in my daily life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My recent transfer was spend on my children's school fees. Since the reopening of school, my children were not able to go to school because I couldn't afford their fees. With this transfer I was able to paid some of their fees and bought their school school materials. Finally the balance money was spend on food for the household.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If God bless me I get this money, the first thing I will do is that, I will take tithe from there and pay it in the church for God. Then the remaining one, my wife and myself will sit down and discuss what to do with it; after our discussion, the main thing on our agenda is to build zinc house, then we will also see about our children school business.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I'm over plus happy because God bless me that I'm part of GiveDirectly program. I'm happy again because God directed GiveDirectly to Liberia to help the poor. May God bless the donors that they will do more for the poor.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main challenge i'm facing is the money business. To get money it's hard for me, because I'm not working with any NGO to be on salary; the only thing I can do now is to cut palm and make oil to sell. By God's help, when GiveDirectly give me this money, everything will be alright.
