How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I do not have a new goal. My goal is still the same, to build a house. After receiving my last transfer, I joined with my sister to start the construction of a five rooms house. It is a very big house that we are going to build. Before, I was not even thinking of constructing a house soon. But all thanks to God for GD reaching my village and has empowered me to start the process of building a more decent house than the one my family and I presently live in.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
First, I want to tell God thank you for GiveDirectly coming my village. Because, if it was not for GD, I would not have make such an amount to start the house project that I am doing now. GD has done more than well by giving me money to start the construction of a new house. However, as for things done unwell by GD, I do not know.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my last transfer on zinc and paid people for the construction of a new house. It is a very big house that my sister and I have joined to build. We currently live in a small and dilapidated house that is made of thatch roof and earth floor. Our house is very cold due to the leakage from the roof and earth floor. So, receiving this last transfer has enable me and my sister to construct a more decent and big house that will bring us a lot of comfort during rainy time.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No. My long time goal was to build my house. But unfortunately I was unable. I Iive in a family house with my daughter. I'm a single father. I do farming to take care of my daughter needs. My daughter have never been to school because I have not been able to afford the fees. Fortunately I'm able to put her in school this year. My dream of seeing her become a future leader will come to pass. It's a privilege being on this program. I was astonished when I received my transfer. I'm grateful to God for this.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly is not doing anything bad. It is making our dreams to come to pass. Giving out money that we have never seen before. It is a great opportunity that we are thankful for. Changing our lives, taking us from poverty. GiveDirectly is doing so well for us.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
It is a privilege being on the GiveDirectly cash program. With the way things have been so hard me, I was overwhelmed when I received my transfer. I am a farmer and a single parent. It is a bit difficult bringing up a girl child as a single and poor man. Living in a family house and not being able to send my daughter to school is saddening. I spent some of my money to pay portion of my daughter fees. I also bought some zinc and some materials to build my house. I kept a little amount to pay contractors. I'm thankful for this opportunity. My dream of building a decent house and seeing my daughter in school will come to pass.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
In 2020, I planned to build my house. I started to harvest palm in the bush to make my plan a reality. During that period, I lost my two aunts to an unknown sickness. I have to spend lot of money during and after the funeral. Since then, things have not been okay as before. Right now I am sleeping with my big brother because my room got damaged by the continuous leaking of the house while my daughter sleeps with my mother. If I am opportune to receive any money from Give Directly, my first and foremost plan is to build my house and help renovate my mother's house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The only happiness I have had for the past six months is the presence of Give Directly in my town. I am happy because I believe when this money you people talked about comes, it is going to change the live of my family and I.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My major challenges are money and a shelter. It has become so difficult to provide for my family. It has become so difficult to send the children to school. They didn't go to school last year due to financial difficulties but if all goes well and I receive this money from Give Directly, I will also use portion of it to send them to school.
