How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different from how it would have been becasue I managed to buy an o pair of oxen which has been my desire but I could not afford on using my own cash. This is becasue of the poverty life that stricken my household, the little I earned from my household was only to sustain my family's daily bread. Through the pair, I will be able to prepare my farm on time and even hire friends and generate an income. Also, the house that was constructed has brought joy to our lives at large. Previously my children used to sleep at my neighbor's house becasue our hose house was very small. However, after receiving the money, I opted to construct another purposely for my children to shelter on. All is well now becasue they no longer have to travel from one village to the other seeking shelter. Also with the beddings at least, I am now sleeping comfortably without any pains like I used when I was using mats as beddings.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well in all the sectors becasue it empowered me to own a lot that I never expected. This is becasue the money was sent directly into my phone and I was granted the freedom on how to spend the money on. Therefore I was able to buy everything I was lacking in my household and I do not see any part of GD failed us
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of my second transfer on buying a pair of oxen and two goats at KES 34000. This has been my dream to own them for quite some time becasue since I solely depend on farming I am I thought it would be f great help to me. Also, I paid school fees for my children so that they won't be sent home serially times to collect fees. This has been affecting their academic performance becasue sometimes they could miss important exams. With the remaining amount of money, I bought food and other household items that I was lacking eg utensils.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was exactly 2 PM when I was preparing lunch for my children then my phone started ringing. Since I am illiterate, I asked my spouse to check who might be. On checking, he realized that it was an Mpesa message from GiveDirectly. Upon hearing that, I felt so happy and even left the cookig and started celebrating.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my life is that the transfers empowered me to construct a decent house for my children. Before the coming of GiveDirectly, we used to shelter under the same house which was quite small and it could not accommodate us all. Therefore some of my children used to seek shelter from their grandmother's house which was quite far from the village. This issue has been stressing me for year's and I had no idea when I would construct their own because my spouse is jobless. I am now a proud mother because I no longer have to worry about my children's sheltering place.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of my first transfer on buying some building materials such as iron sheets, building poles, nails, and threads. This was for the construction of a new house for my children whom we have been sharing the same house for all those years and it was very small. Also, I bought some beddings such as two beds and mattresses to replace the olds mats that I have been using as beddings. Finally, I bought enough foodstuffs for my family and some other household items that I was lacking.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means a decent and a spacious house for my big family of twelve. I'll use 400 dollars to construct a three-room house for my family. I'll further use 300 dollars to cater for my children's school fees.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the evening because this the time I take a rest after a busy day in my farm.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship in my life is lack of a descent and a spacious house for my children. My house isn't enough for all my children to be hosted.
