How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I don have a new goal. My previous plan was to establish business for my wife. We kept this second transfer to add to the third to make bigger business.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I am too happy for what Givedirectly is doing for me. I used to do physical work that got me injured, since Givedirectly money started coming, I no longer engage in hard labor activities. So Givedirectly is doing well by changing our life condition. There's nothing they do wrong.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
We've planned to buy fish, pepper, oil, cubes, and other assorted cooking items for our business. We will put all this second transfer behind the business.

My family survives by farming and a small business. With little incomes from the business, We could barely afford to pay my children tuition and school are about to re-open.I was in the bush when i saw my wife running saying "my sweetheart" the money has reached". My wife and I were very happy because we had to pay our children tuitions and also reinvent in her business.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I can feel happy knowing I have something doing and my wife can now provide food from the business money I give her.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I paid my children school fees and reinvested in my wife business. Moreover, I paid men to brush my farm because I know that with a bigger farm, I can get more food for my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I was doing casual labour work to the port earning money that was maintaining my family but I got involved into accident and one of my legs got broken. The little money I earned from the job, I spent all on hospital bills. The money my wife earned from her business, were spent on food and other needs. Some of my children are not in school because, I don't have money to pay all of them fees. If I receive this money, I will put my wife back into business and send all of my children to school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
When I had the accident I really thought I couldn't walk again. The money I earned from my job, I spent all on my illness. There was no money to feed my children, other relatives started helping but their help was not enough to maintain my family and I couldn't do anything because I was not able to walk. When I started walking, it brought me so much joy, seeing myself getting back on my feet.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Since the accident I'm not doing anything to maintained my family neither my wife. My mother and other relatives help us at time. The help they give us is not enough to sustain my family. I feel so ashamed at time asking people to send some of my children to school. I want to start my own business but I don't have money. That's the challenge I'm currently facing.
