Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to start growing maize for my family. I will buy hybrid seeds that are resistant to the disease that I hear experts calling it maize, lethal necrosis. I will buy maize seeds called DK 777 from a company called Monsanto. I will also buy planting fertilizer to ensure that the crop does well.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I have not been growing maize on my farm for the last 7 years. I made a lot of losses due to a certain disease. As a result, I have been forced to change to spring onion growing which cannot be used in place of maize as food. It means that I had to spend a lot of money to buy maize for consumption. I had to rely on menial jobs on a daily basis to feed my family. Since I started using the transfers to buy food, I have gotten relieved from the torturous menial labor on other people's farms. I now feel that I have a better life than four months ago.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to have produced enough food for the next year. I will have harvested maize and will have grown potatoes and beans. I think I will be living better life free from hunger and stress.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that my family no longer lack some of their basic needs. In addition to this, I am no longer living on debts since I can afford most of our basic needs. Sometimes, finding some casual work to do is a challenge but I have been able to meet our daily needs using my transfers and the little money I usually get from doing some menial jobs.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
At the moment, I am planning to fully utilize my farm by planting some potatoes and onions. I prefer this kind of investment since I believe that I will have a good harvest compared to someone who will opt to plant maize. After the harvest, I will sell my produce at our nearby town and invest the money in dairy farming.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I usually take three meals a day despite the economic challenges I go through. This is a season where everyone buys maize flour in our region because we hardly harvested last season due to the large infestation of fall Armyworms in our farms. Being able to afford three meals a day without much struggle has always given me a reason to worker harder so that I can be able to save some money to use in case of an emergency.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that my family will be feeding well. I am also hoping that I will have a plentiful harvest of potatoes and onions. I will sell them and use the money to buy a dairy cow. Investing in dairy farming has always been my prayer as it will enable me to cut the cost of buying milk daily.
