How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
RE: Before the coming of givedirectly cash transfer my family and I survived from the sales of our garden produce. We have always wished to construct our own house, but never had the financial strength therefore we had to put it behind us, but with this givedirectly cash help we have finally decided to build a house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
RE: In my opinion i will say givedirectly is doing extremely well with this program from the registration process up till now, there's no problem. My household and I are most grateful to givedirectly for this cash transfer program in our community.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
RE: My household and i are spending the most of our transfer on the construction of a new house. We are going to purchase zincs and nails among other building materials to start our house construction process.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I am Doris Gbah from Solo Gold Camp. My family and I survived on farming and as a farmer, life has been a bit difficult. My family and I have to work hard to sustain ourselves. However, I was on my farm when Give Directly sent the transfer but I didn't know until when I heard my neighbour celebrating. Upon getting this information, I was encouraged to hurriedly go to the network point to check my account balance. As soon as I got there, I received the transfer alert on my phone. At that moment I was very happy because it is a blessing to receive a huge sum of money as help.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
At first, life has been challenging because farming was my only means of survival. Since I started receiving my transfer, I was able to start a small business as another source of income and the workload has reduced.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my first transfer to pay my children's tuition and I invested the balance into a business.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am from Nimba County and a business woman who sells food. My spouse is also working on the goldmine as a casual labourer. Our plan is to build our own house and improve my business.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I was very happy last year July when my sister was involved into a motor accidents, survived without sustaining injury. All of the other passengers were badly injured and near lost their lives.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
We are from Nimba County and we came here to hustle for money to improve our lives. People are not really buying like before, my spouse too is not getting money like before because the goldmine he's working on is not really producing minerals like before. Therefore, we are really challenged in meeting our needs as a family.
