What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
I plan to use the cash transfer to build a new house by first procuring about 24 iron sheets and start layering bricks..The house I am currently living in is not comfortable enough for both me and my children so If I build a new house I feel like there will be more space for everyone. The cash transfer will also help me to purchase livestock especially goats to be raising around the house so that it can be helping us in finding income. Lastly, I will procure at least 10 bags of maize so that I can have enough food throughout the end of the year and be able to eat 2-3 times a day.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last 6 months, the thing that has brought happiness is that in the month of April I managed to harvest more sweet potatoes..This made my house to be food secured as we had enough food throughout the entire month..I was so happy during this month, as I had peace of mind that I have at least been able to provide for my family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main challenge is the sickness of my husband Bile, as he suffers from orchitis( a disease that causes the swelling of testicles)..This affects the whole household as during this time I fail to be productive while tending to his needs this results in low outputs in terms of farming as it makes me to go alone to the farm..I have 4 children and the oldest is only 18 years this is the only one who helps me out when my husband is sick..Due to less farm produce, I fail to manage and sustain the whole household hence issues to do with hunger arises.
