Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I receive the money from GD I felt very happy. I was so happy because I knew that many of my problems will be resolved. I have no fertilizer for farming but I managed to buy fertilizer and I will be able to do my farming this year. I was also very excited because I knew that my children will have enough food to eat and they will be happy knowing that the is money in the house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving payment from GD is that I am happy ,I have never received such amount of money before. I don't work and because of this it is so hard to find money. After receiving the payment from GD my children have enough food to eat, they have blankets and cloths to wear and I also have fertilizer for farming which I did not have last year.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have spent my recent money transfer from GD to buy fertilizer ,last year I had no money and because of that I was unable to buy fertilizer for my farming. I also used the money to buy food for my family and blankets so that we have comfortable beddings in the house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am glad with this donation because it will assist me and my wife to buy necessary items that we lack here. Firstly, as you have seen, this house has no windows and this disturbs us during rains because water pours inside through the open spaces. Secondly, i will use this money to purchase a better sleeping place (blankets and duvets). Finally, some money will be used to strengthen my business, i cultivate and sale tobacco and maize therefore this money will also help boost my business.
What is the happiest part of your day?
We were happy when we saw Give Directly staff here in our village such that it was a relief because we i knew that the money they will provide me will help boost my business.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Finding and making money is now a challenge because i mainly depend on money realised from the tobacco sales. Now that tobacco is not profitable anymore it has led to us not making enough money. I used to make money back then such that i managed to buy a Toyota hilux 12 R model, but now because the buyers are not offering good money it has hit us hard.
