Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was in the morning around 10 am. I was planting beans in my crop land. I was so happy to receive the message from Givedirectly you can imagine an old lady screaming and shouting because of the excitement. The first thing I thought was to improve my way of life.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I can't imagine the life I will be living in, I was able to buy land and food for my family. We are now a happy family we couldn't afford to take three meals per day but now we are to buy food and eat three meals in day.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought a land of 200k , I am planning to divide the land into two parts. One part I will plant potatoes and the other part I will rent it to my neighbor who want to plant beans in that land.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
The first thing we are planning is to buy a cow so that we can get manure to use in our land in order to become productive. The cow will cost $200. The second thing is to renew our house from the roof and walls. The reason of renewing is that we are in old age as you can see and we wish to get old living in clean house. Those activities will cost $300. We will also buy one goat for $30 and this will give birth to other many so that in the future we will have to sell them and get the money to pay for health insurance. The rest of the money will cover other needs like buying food, clothes and other household items.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The first thing that brought happiness into our home is that our granddaughter who lived with us got married, it happened in this January 2023. In our daily life when we have peace at home, when there is no one sick in our family we feel safe and happy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main challenge we are facing is poverty because we always get something to eat by buying as well as the soap and other needs. We are always required to pay for everything we need yet we don't have money. Besides, we don't have any livestocks being small or cows, we don't have manure to put in our small land we use to grow food crops. Therefore we don't produce enough from agriculture. In general we are very poor as u can see, even to get the money to pay for health insurance we have to cultivate for others.
