What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I received my second transfer, I started digging and constructing a permanent latrine. I opted for this since it has been long since we have been depending on open defecation which we consider unhealthy too. I am looking forward to acquiring an improved sanitation courtesy of Give Directly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that Give Directly has made it possible for me to achieve my dreams. I had been dreaming of having a latrine and a house with a burglar proof door but due to poverty, all these remained a mirage in my life. For instance, we have been depending on open defecation, which was very risky and unhealthy to our lives but now, I am certain that before the year ends, we shall have switched to a permanent latrine.

I spent my first transfer on buying a sack of maize of maize at 4,000 KES, a solar lamp at 3,000 KES, then used the rest of the cash on other small house items. My sack of maize is still helping us as a family and we are so grateful.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy when I received the transfer, this is because I was so down financially at the time.
