How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My new goal before receiving the transfer was to build my house. I am currently living in a community owned house. The community members allow me and my family to live in this because we have no place to sleep.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly had done very well for me and my family. I am building my house because of GiveDirectly intervention. GiveDirectly had not done anything wrong.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my recent transfer on building house. Owning a house will reduce a cost of living and improve our standard of living.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Currently, I and my spouse are live on the church compound, we came here because the head pastor for this Assembly of God Church died since 2014. This place is not for us. We need to build our own house to moved anytime the church retired my spouse. Since I started hearing about GiveDirectly in late 2020, I have been praying for that NGO ( GiveDirectly) sent by God to come here to our aid and God has answered my prayer, now that GD is here today, I am very happy that my dream of owing a house will be achieve. Therefore, I will use my transfer to build myself a house which will restore our dignity in this community because people feel that I can't own a house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My joy come every morning when I wake up from bed alive, I sing praises to God for the gift of live. But frankly speaking, things have been difficult. So GiveDirectly coming into our community to provide unconditional cash transfer to us brought me the most joy over the past 6 months.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My spouse is not employed, as you all know that being a preacher man in Liberia is completely a voluntary service. I have to make farm to sell some of the produce to enable us earned cash to purchase our basic needs, so my main challenge now is finance because I don't have sustainable source of income.
