How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from the way it was four months ago because my income has increased. This is because I was able to purchase a sewing machine and I'm happy I'm getting something out of it unlike previously when we we used to share profit with my employer.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Currently, I'm relying on tailoring as the main source of income. I would wish to improve my income. I'm, therefore, planning to train in hair care. For the next four months, I have an additional goal to enroll in a haircare college. With this, I'll have additional source of income.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I used the first transfer to purchase a sewing machine. I was employed by someone but I wasn't earning a lot from it because we had to share profit. Since I bought the machine, my income has improved and I can comfortably afford to meet the household needs. I feel so proud of myself for having achieved this.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Currently, I only make people clothes but I do not have clothes materials for sewing. My customers are, therefore, forced to buy the garments in a different shop then bring to my shop for sewing services. I'd wish to have a one-stop-shop where my customers gets both the materials and sewing labor. I'm planning to save some money so that I can start selling the garment materials. This will enable me to earn double i.e both from sewing labor and from the materials.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Since I started receiving these payments,I have been able to save some money that previously were meant for paying for the tailoring machine that I hired. This is because I bough my own.I am now able to support my husband with the purchase of the household items.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I hope that in the next six months,I will have my own tailoring shop where I can also hire more people for more income.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If we had not received the transfers I would not have managed to buy the machine which would mean that I would still be hiring one, which is costly. Our status in the society has also changes as we now live in a more decent house after using the money to build a new house.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I would like to lease a piece of land(at least one acre)in preparation for the next farming season because we don't enough land to cultivate. I will also go back to tailoring school and complete my training on making male clothing because I was only trained on making female ones.
