How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My plan was to renovate my house that I am living in because it is damage. Unfortunately, I have not been able to because there is no money to achieve my goal. I planned to save my first and second transfer to generate more money for the renovation project of my house because I need a better and decent house for my family and I to stay in the future.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
The good things that GiveDirectly is doing have never been seen by me. I am very old now but since I was born, I have never seen such thing yet. Helping the poor with such amount of money is surprising. Those of us that have means of getting out of poverty have become self-reliance on our own. For me in my opinion, GiveDirectly have done very much well by helping me and sending me such amount of money unconditionally.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have not taken my transfer out of my account yet because I have planned to save my money and generate more money for the renovation project of my house. Ifreceived, I will buy more building materials for the total completion of my house. My previous house is almost like on the ground. I have planned to renovate it properly for the comfort of my family and I in the future.
