How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my life is that I managed to pay a very huge school fee arrears of my daughter which was really stressing me because I could afford to settle the arrears. I am very happy and stress free because I know my daughter will be sent home again for school fee arrears and I sure of completing her school without any arrears. I also now have enough seats to accommodate all if my family members and so none of my family's will sit down.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion give directly did a very good think by dealing with people directly and not involving authorities in their process since it could have attracted corruption. It was also another good idea of dealing with individuals and not a group because this also could have brought conflicts in the community.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of the transfer to pay secondary school fee for my daughter who was sent home for school fees arrears. My daughter has been staying home for sometimes since I was not able to pay for her school fee arrears, I was so much stressed because I was not sure when I was going to get money to pay for my daughter school fee. I thank God Give directly came to my rescue and I managed to pay her school fee and now my daughter is in school learning like other students. I spent the transfer to buy furniture and cushions since I did not have enough seats to sit on being that I have a large family and the seats where not enough to accommodate them, this was forcing some of my family members to sit down. I also spent the transfer to buy food stuffs and two bags of maize for my family consumption since I did not get enough yield last harvesting season being that there was a lot of draught. The remaining balance I spent to buy blanket since I did not have something worm to cover myself. I had a very small light bed sheet that could not keep me warm and this was stopping me from having good sleep. Since I bought blanket I am sleeping comfortably that sometimes I over sleep that am not aware when it is already morning.
