How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am Hawa Fayiah from Gogbah town, Bomi county Liberia. I planned to build my own house before receiving my third cash transfer from Givedirectly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Givedirectly is the reason my kids are in school this semester and I am planning to build my own house. I am so grateful to Givedirectly for being trustworthy and want to extend thanks and appreciation to those who contributed in taking me from one level to another. I have not heard of things that Givedirectly didn't do well in this village. Thanks to all of the contributors for showering me with love, care and concern.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Upon cashing out , I bought there bundles zinc and thirty pieces Planks in preparation for my Project.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I am bless to receive transfer from Givedirectly, I intend to send my children to school and use the remaining to start a clothes business. At present, I don't have the means to cater to my children school fees because of the money business. I am only depending on subsistence farming that only provide daily substanance for the family. Even though the children are in Monrovia with some relatives who promised to send them to school, but it's not yet certain. Often at times, people take children from family in rural communities with the promised to educate them, but instead, most of the children end up becoming domestic slaves. I am really worry that such would not happen to my children too. So, I have been praying for God to send us someone who will help and that Givedirectly show up. The business will help me raise additional cash flow that will keep the children in school every year so that they wouldn't have to be sent to live with anyone again.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What makes me happy in the past six months is that in September of this year, my husband, Mohammed Sesay burn a coal bill that produced 115 bags that we sold and paid our debts and the remaining was used to provide food for the family. This brought relief because of what we went through in August when we hit rock-bottom. The sale also help us to pay for medical treatment.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship facing me now is money to send my children to school and start a business. Only one of the children was able to attend school this academic calendar year because a family friend assisted me when she asked that the child move at her house. The remaining didn't attend because of money problem. We couldn't even get food to eat especially in August of this year. Even though the family friend has helped us find people that the children can stay with so that they can be sent to school in Monrovia, I am still feeling uncomfortable because of the way some people treat other people children they pretend to help. If I can get support from Givedirectly to send my children to school and start a business, it will change our lives.
