How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
GiveDirectly has made me do farming investment as I wished. It has been my main objective to practice cash crop farming, but since I had no land, I was unable to do it in a larger scale in order to realize the full benefit. I realized that, if resources are available, someone can easily tap the available resources for wealth creation. I now have things which I had desire to have.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has outsmarted other NGOs on the structure of how they do their work, by giving households fund. Everyone had opportunity to get his/ her own money directly from the main source, which most organizations confine their programs as per their own decision. We had power and freedom to use the money as per our needs without restrictions. The organization left other needy people without enrolling them into the program. There were so many genuine cases which was not addressed. Some were perceived to imposters, yet they were not.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the second transfer on leasing 2 acres of land which I have planted sugarcane. I believe that farming will give me stable income. Since I don't have enough parcel of land, and I had to lease a land. I also managed to buy building materials to construct a new house, which already is a complete project.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference brought to my life by this transfer is that I am no longer having problems with Government officials because I did not have a toilet. Right now, I am at peace and I no longer hide whenever they come in my area.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt very good because I know I will never go without food again which has been my major problem.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my transfer on buying steel windows and doors which I fitted in my house. I also bought tiles, cement and bricks which I used in building a pit latrine since this is a swampy area and temporary toilet is not durable.
