Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I came from my farm that evening, when I saw a group of people in my village dancing and rejoicing. I stopped to ask what happened here, they said that givedirectly has sent them money, that's why they are rejoicing. I left right away and when at the network areas to check if I have received mine. luckily for me I saw a huge amount of money in my account. I was so happy that evening. I quickly run to my friends we rejoice and dance together that evening. I was happy because in my whole life I haven't received such money for free without paying back.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life now is I'm able to buy Zinc to change my leaking thatched roof. Because that been a challenge for me. I'm also able to provide food for my family that I'm so thankful to GiveDirectly for. My life has changed for the better.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I received my transfer I was able to buy two (2) bundle of zinc that cost $20,500LD to change my leaking thatched roof with iron sheets roof. Because the house I'm living in right now has leakage all over roof. Secondly I was able to buy enough foodstuff for my family. Because before than I used to farm the whole day just to get money to support my family with food. And now givedirectly has helped me to change my life so I decided to buy enough foodstuff that will carry us for the whole month. The rest of the money I was able to pay the workmanship and transportation.
