My new goal is to renovate my since it's not in good condition and is very small in size. As my family grows, I believe that it a high time to add more rooms or else my children will be forced to seek shelter elsewhere which has never been my wish. This will lower my dignity as a parent therefore I am praying to God to see me through so that I can achieve this dream.

In my opinion, I do not see anything that GiveDirectly did not do well in my village. The idea of offering us unconditional cash transfers has brought a big change into our lives. We now have assets, also we have been able to send our children school who had initially dropped out. Apart from that, the officers were very humble and approachable, we could freely interact with them, especially when seeking clarifications.

I spent part of my second transfer on buying household items like curtains, furniture, and carpets, utensils which cost a total of KES 10000. I feel have now restored my dignity because, for all those years, I have been borrowing from my friends which was sometimes embarrassing especially when I have visitors. I also started a new business ( selling vegetables) 10000 within my village. I have been jobless for so long which has been affecting my family in so many ways because my spouse was not in a good position to provide for all our needs. He has been relying on casual jobs with a meagre income. I later cleared my college fees for the tailoring course that I enrolled in a few weeks ago. I am optimistic that once I graduate, I will have the skills to seek a good job. With the remaining amount of money, I bought food for my four family members and I am grateful that we no longer skip meals like before.

Receiving the transfers meant so much to me. I was doing laundry and was away from my phone for a very long time, immediately I finished doing cleaning ,I decided to check on my phone just to confirm if I had any missed calls which I needed to respond to, to my surprise I got an mpesa alert which changed my mood throughout the day. That's the moment I started planning on how to use the money as I had been struggling financially on how to provide for my young family of four.

The biggest difference since I started receiving the transfers is that my two kids nolonger get sick more often as they used to due to the dust and eating unhealthy foods.They now look so healthy and this makes us to be so proud as their parents unlike before the transfers as we felt we failed in parenting since we could not afford the basic needs.

The transfers I received was of a blessing to my family of four.I used the transfers to buy ten bags of cement to plaster my house, which costed roughly Kshs 10,000. Initially it was not plastered and has been so dusty all along, having a very young kid who is 4 months old,I have been in and out of the hospital as my son is allergic to the dust. I am now relieved as he nolonger gets sick since I repaired the house. I also used part of the money to buy mattress, beddings and some clothes for the whole family, before the transfers I could not afford to buy most of the basic needs and we could sleep on the floor, the transfers came in handy and the livelihood of my family has totally changed. I also managed to stock food stuff worth Kshs 10,000 which lasted us for a whole month, getting food has been the greatest challenge in our family, before the transfers my family could hardly get all the three meals, I am so grateful as my family have been having healthy and regular meals since I received the transfers.
