How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have a new goal apart from my previous one, the first transfer was used to pay for my daughter's medical bills, and the second transfer was used to purchase seven bags of cement for plastering the existing house, foodstuff and paid the contractors for the cocoa farm brushing. Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was washing when I received a called from my friend informing me that the money from Givedirectly has arrived. I reached out for my phone to check my account, it turned out to be true. My heart was filled with happiness till I started running around the house, shouting and praising God for answering my prayers.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My daughter was hospitalised and the child died before due months. the only option we had was to do a C-section; because of my low financial status, I was depressed. I had to run to find money anyhow. So I was worried because the due date of the loan was fast approaching and I had nowhere to turn to until Givedirectly cash came in and wiped away my tears. Nothing has given me this much joy in my life. I am so happy now and I'm grateful for Givedirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I paid back the loan I credited to settle my sick daughter bills. I bought 7 bags of cements to renovate my house. I used the rest of the money to buy 2 and half bags of rice and other food supplies.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"When I receive GiveDirectly Cash Transfer I will build another house that is different in structure than my current house because this is a palpus house and it is not long lasting and reliable. The next item on my list is to continue enrolling my children in school. Lastly, I intend to establish a business.
What is the happiest part of your day?
"In June of this year, an NGO whose name I can't recall at the moment surprised us with food supplies such as rice, beans and oil. This was an exciting time for us as a family because the supplies lasted until the end of July! It helped eased our worries from the pressure of providing food for the children. It's also a joyous time for my family and myself today! We were in no way expecting you people to have selected our town yet, you surprised us with your visit followed by a very good news!!!! I'm so much thankful to GiveDirectly for selecting my family to be a part of this project especially for what's underway - the Cash Transfer!"
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"My mother-in-law passed away last year December. So, her passing affected our productivity with our farming because we spend so much time mourning and with other funeral activities that normally could've had our focus on the farm during that particular season. As a result of this, we palnt late this year so we didn't gather much crops as we have been producing regularly. This has a huge effect on provisions at home because we couldn't sell much due to the limited crops which wasn't even enough for our family's supply. "
