What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I receive this money from Givedirectly I will use some to start a business and use the balance to complete my house which will makes me happy. I make pepper garden for the past two years to sustained my family and the money I earned from the pepper garden in 2019 and 2020 I used some to build my house and use the balance on food. I didn't complete the house because the money was not sufficient to buy enough materials that could finish the house. I attached a shop on my house which I plan to open a shop where I will sit and just do business because I want to leave the garden work. I have developed serious back pain from the garden work.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, what has brought me joy and happiness is when my daughter husband called me in April 2021 to tell me that my daughter when through surgery but she and the baby survive safely which brought so much happiness to me because my daughter is the only person who can help me at times and more besides I can't bear to lose her.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardships I'm facing now is lack of money. I want to start a business and complete my house which will bring me so much joy but I don't have money. Although I make pepper garden to sustain my family but the money I earned from the garden I make in 2019 and 2021 is what I use to build my house because, the house I was living in got damaged from a heavy down pull of rain. and I was not feeling fine sleeping from place to place so I decided to build a house for my children and I. I couldn't make garden this year because there was no money. I attached a shop to the house I build which I plan to start a business but there's no money.
