How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No I do not have a new goat that I didn't had before receiving the transfer.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does well buy giving money to the poor in the community to build better house and to buy dairy cows. I do not find anything that GiveDirectly did not do well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent all the second transfer to buy building materials and started building a better house for my family. The construction is on going. We live in a small mud house which cannot host all my family members comfortably. I am so happy because GiveDirectly has changed our living standards. When the new house is completed we will move in and started living comfortable. I am so grateful for the support.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was early in the morning as I was attending to my cows before moving out to my usual chores. I was thankful after confirming the receipt of the first transfer as all my hopes had been on the transfer to accomplish a lot in our household. My husband was out to the market already and had to call him. After breaking the news, he was so excited too. We thanked God for the great provision together as this was a confirmation that the plans we had will be kicking off sooner.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the hope of earning an extra income from the sale of milk after obtaining a cow. This will enhance my savings plan and covering other household bills as well. Milk business has been doing great in our locality and I saw it as an opportunity to leverage on as I look forward to having an easy time when my children start their schooling. All credit goes to GiveDirectly for the great support that we all received in the village and has brought great differences in many households.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
After receiving my first transfer, I spent KES35000 on obtaining a good breed of a lactating cow to add to the two that I had been keeping. After seeing the great importance of enough milk both for my domestic usage and also surplus to sell, I saw a need to add one cow as an additional source that can be sold to earn us some income. I also obtained two sacks of maize at KES6400 that will keep us for some months before buying an addition, and also clothing for my two children worth KES50000. I needed them to have at least new clothing from the first transfer that they had been anticipating. With the remaining amount, I obtained household utensils and other kitchenware that we were missing. I am grateful for the changes I have made within this short period and I am hoping to still improve a lot with the second transfer.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Imagine waking up each day to fetch water from the stream , tiring , isn't? The alternative to this is the dam but it's unfortunate that the water is dirty as it's used for the cattle as well. Receiving this money means that I will purchase a kentank 3000lts (200usd) to harvest rain water during the rainy season and use it for longer dry periods. I will use (350usd ) to start a poultry farm as my maize business is seasonal. The rest of the transfers will be used on clothing for my children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I depend on farming to feed and educate my childen as I cultivate my farm daily for 3 hours . am happy in the afternoon because it's at this time that I find rest and reminisce on the days activity.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
We should appreciate that agriculture is the back bone of our economy, and we do depend on it for our days to day life. The climatic changes have proofed otherwise for there have been adverse cases of drought and hunger in our lands.Despite cultivating the farm well, I have have been unable to harvest making food insecurity my biggest hardship.For instance,at the moment ,I have maize at the farm but it's unproductive because of the harsh climate and diseases.
