Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life has improved because I have managed to fix metallic shatters in my permanent house. I'm now very safe compared to the past when I could not lock the doors because the termates had destroyed them. In addition, I'm very happy because one of my grandchild is now doing his Primary leaving Examinations because I managed to pay his school fees. If I wasn't among the people who benefited from GiveDirectly, I would not have managed to pay on my own since I used to cost share the responsibility with my late father.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received money, I felt very happy because for money for paying school fees for my 2 grandchildren who are orphaned.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I bought building materials( 2 metallic doors and 2 windows, 3 bags, building tools) worth UGX 610,000, paid school fees worth UGX 300,00 for my grandchildren, paid labour worth UGX 220,000, gave gifts UGX 350,000. There is a balance of UGX 210,000 which I'm planning to spend on paying labour.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be in position to buy farm land. I have only two acres of land for crop farming, this produce very little produce due to low fertility. Once I buy more land , it will be possible to carry out large scale farming hence increased production. This will support my family in terms of food and other basic needs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest party of my day is afternoon hours after morning activities. Iam able to discuss development plans like better farming with my children. This has made my family manage to handle some challenging situations.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest harsdship I face is lack of money. This has prompted me carry out small scale farming which does not support my family demands. I have some food shortage hence we eat ones a day.
