How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
We now have enough food for the entire household as compared to the past,,We also have better beddings and clothes..

GiveDirectly it provides unconditional cash transfers to people to improve their living standards.

The money will be used to build a house for his wife and the remaining funds will be used to establish a small scale business

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy when i received the transfer and i called the hotline to extend my gratitude.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Many things have changed. I have enough food nowadays. Before the transfer, i could go to look for piece works but now am not, i only concentrate on farming and am sure my yield will be great.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was able to buy iron sheets, bicycle, fertilizer, bags of maize, cement. I also bought clothes for my family including some learning materials for my kids. I also saved some money which will be used later.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I intend to use the money for buying Iron sheets, house utensils and other items. I will also buy food and use the other money to do business and generate income.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Mornings are usually happy times for me as I get to do farm work knowing am securing food for my family in future.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Lack of food is always an everyday challenge since we don't have a reliable source of income apart from casual labour and subsistence farming.
