Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment we received our cash transfers we were so excited and thankful as in our family we didn't have food, sometimes we used to sleep in empty stomach's but with these transfers we managed to buy 7 bags of maize and now we know we are covered for the rest of the year. May God bless the organisation.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
After receiving these cash transfers there is a biggest difference in our lives as then we used to sleep in empty stomach's but now we are able to have dinner and go to bed full, also our lives were in danger as anyone could have break in and do anything they could wish to do as we never used to lock the door but now we have managed to buy a wooden door and we are locking the door. We are very thankful.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
After we received our cash transfers we managed to spend it on buying cement, mattress, maize and a wooden door and this costed us about 295,000 kwacha. This is so as the house we used to live in was not in a good condition, we used to close it using a mat and it was not safe for us, every time we wake up in the morning we were just thanking God that he protected us throughout the night but now we are so grateful that Give Directly gave us the money and we have managed to enhance our own security and livelihoods. May God bless the organisation.

I am always happy in the morning because joy comes in the morning.

My biggest hardship that I have faced is lack of enough food in the house
