Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so grateful when I received my transfer. It was the most happy moment in my life. I was chatting when I heard people rejoicing in the village that they have received money. I joined them instantly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My life has changed, I managed to buy clothes for the entire family and my family is looking nice. My children also go to school putting on school uniforms and they are happy. I also managed to buy food. Before the transfer, I could go on an empty stomach and I am grateful that I have the food now. I am so grateful for this.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I looked at what I needed most before sending my transfer. I and my family had no clothes and it was a shame to the family. I managed to buy enough clothes for everyone including school uniforms. I also bought beddings such as Mattress, a duvet and blankets. I also used the money to buy some bags which we use to store clothes. I also bought kitchen utensils such as spoons, pots and plates. My house is also having grass on the roof. I took some money to buy a plastic paper to be safe from rainy season. I have been married for so long but I never had an opportunity to go to my husband's village. I took some money and used it as transport to go to Zomba where my husband comes from.
