How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now because i have managed to do 2-3 big things,as I'm talking to you i own a chicken business it is something i ever wished to do and its a dream coming true thanks to this organisation for making my dreams come true in a blink of an eye.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion and to be frank about everything, this programme has been exceptional we all got enrolled following the criteria and there was no favouritism all anything of sorts.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I'm very grateful that i received my second transfer and super excited with the whole experience as you know with my first transfer i managed to build a house, with this second transfer i have thought of investing it in a business,so i started a new business where i sell exotic chicken and its going on pretty well considering that I'm a bigginer. Give Directly has given me an opportunity to fight poverty,I'm pretty sure i will never see hunger again, without the programme i don't think i would have been able to raise such amount of money to start this business.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
The money will help me to shape my future. I dropped out from school after failing my Malawi school certificate of education and decided to get married. I stayed in marriage for two years but my husband was so abusive. I divorced him last year in June and decided to come back home. When I reach home, my parents did not welcome me as I expected and I was given a piece of land to build a house and to farm but they did not allow me to spent a night in their house claiming I will bring bad luck to my siblings. Being at home and the only female in the village who managed to sat for MSCE exams, alotof NGO's have been reaching out to me to work with them but the process always ends when they find out that I failed MSCE. With the money, I am planning to pay for MSCE exams this year. I want to be a nurse or a Doctor for me to be able to tell my story to encourage others in my community.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am always happy when am studying at night. Education gives me piece.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced are failing for my Malawi School Certificate of Education Exams and having an abusive husband.
