How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I had a very small house and it was a shame, sharing the small house with my children. I built a very big house with the transfer. My house has 3 bedrooms and it has an iron sheets. Before the transfer, I could sleep on an empty stomach but after receiving my transfer, I bought enough food for my house. I used to have debts before the transfer and now I am a free.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GD is a very nice organisation to me. The amount of money is enough to do greater things. I have been doing farming for so long but the money I could get was only MK 50 000 and thus the maximum amount after toiling. My 2 transfers have helped me a lot.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My main desire was to build a house and I spent most of it to build a house. I used my second transfer to mould bricks such that I hired some people who were moulding it n my behalf. I also bought doorframes and windows. I also bought 6 bags of maize. I didn't have enough food and the food I have bought is enough for the year.
