How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
With the coming of givedirectly into our village many people's lives have been transformed because most of us did not have proper houses but now, like myself I'm currently in the process of putting iron sheets on my roof.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly is doing everything so well in this program and I am grateful for being one of the beneficiaries.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the money I received to buy mattresses, timber and nails. And I'm using the remaining money to pay labourers, who are building my house.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was proud at this momen and was very happy. This moment was a defining one in my life because i know that this year i will not suffer hunger. I bought ferilizer which i applied to my farm. So in short, i was a happy moment.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference this transfer has made in my life is that unlike in the previous years, this year by this time i have enough food for my household. Iam sure and certain that this year there will be no cases of malnutrition in my family.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
After i received this transfer i set out to town with my husband and we bought iron sheets to roof our house as it was previously grass thatched. We bought 5 bags of maize for consumption. Finally there need to have new beddings and our wish was accomplished with this transfer.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
This money from GD will be greatly appreciated when I finally get my transfers. I will spend it on food, fertilizers and other farm inputs. Iam really grateful for being considered in this program.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Iam happiest at noon after I come back from wherever I go to look for food. I know my family is going to eat for that particular day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship in my file is that I fall sick regularly hence cannot earn enough to support my household.
