What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I got my second transfer, I was able to regain ownership of my land by paying off the mortgage amount of 800,000ugx which am going to cultivate to get food for my household, I a gain lent some one 500,000ugx in exchange for an acre of land that I will be cultivating until he pays back my money. The balance of 233,000ugx, I used for purchasing household items in order to improve on the living conditions.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give directly has done well by empowering the poor through giving unconditional cash transfers that have changed people's lives. On the other hand, Give directly has not done well by not covering every body especially the youths who are still at home but lack the capacity to begin an Income generating activity.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The main difference is that i have self esteem and can now cultivate on a large piece of land than if I had not received this support, there would have been good insecurity at my household.
