How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
When my husband died, he left this house for me. After GD started sending me transfer, I thought to myself to do some renovations on the house. Now my new goal is to see this house in a good condition again so that my children and I can live comfortably again.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GD is doing everything well, one of the good thing that GD is doing well in is the unconditional cash transfer they sent us. I have not seen anything that Give Directly has not done well in yet.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have not bought anything with my recent transfer yet. I'm saving the transfer and waiting on the rest of the transfer to do the renovations.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I am Sahdia Zokai from Beh town, Bomi County Liberia. I was very excited when I receive cash transfer massage from Givedrectly because, I was completely out of money and didn't have anyone to help me.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference is that my children are in school right now through the cash receive from Givedrectly. I been in this village since I was born and involve in to business but my family is large, and I lost my husband so life been very difficult for me. I am planning to add to my existing business and renovate my house upon receiving my second cash transfer from Givedrectly. I am so happy and want to extend thanks and appreciation to Givedrectly for such a wonderful help.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Upon cash out my transfer, I did payment of my children school fees, bought three buckets of paint and other materials for renovation of my bathroom.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I planned to buy more goods in my shop. It is from the shop I have been able to educate my children and also provide food for the household consumption. Currently, I am marketing selling mixed goods which includes food and none food items. Imagine, my spouse died last year December, If I am not strong to increase this business, my household will be bullied in this town because he and I started this business before his death. If the transfer is enough to add my business with some balance, I will change the zinc over my house because it was once among our plans before my husband passed away.
What is the happiest part of your day?
When my daughter give birth to her son last August on the 3rd, there was great joy in my heart and I was impressed with my children performance in school this year. All of them make a successful passed to the next level.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My challenge now is finance to register my children in school before November. While worrying about finance, I am also worried about food for the household consumption. My spouse who used to do everything is now dead and I am now a widow struggling to cater to 7 children he left behind. When my children are healthy and educated, they are my future. When my children are educated and God gives me long life, they will take care of me. If they are not educated, I will not feel good because their future will not be bright in the absence of education.
