How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed because I purchased a motorbike that facilitates movements and generates income to the family. With this money, I can buy food and other basic necessities. I now sleep on a good mattress and bed. Prior to receiving the transfer it was not easy to get money for meeting the family needs. I slept on a mart which was not comfortable.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly did well to mobilize all the members of my community for the first meeting and it was good that they sent each beneficiary money on their phones. This reduced the theft risks. There is nothing they did bad, people in my community appreciate the mode of GiveDirectly operation.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent UgX 1,300,000 of my second transfer for buying a second hand bajaj motorcycle that does boda boda business hence generating income to the household. I bought a goat, clothes, shoes, food and jerrycans.
