How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different because I got relieved after paying school fees for my son. I was going through a lot of stress trying to pay for him I had almost resorted to selling apiece of land. SInce receive the transfer and paying school fees, I am now settled knowing that I won't have to lose a parcel of land on my farm.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
When GIveDirecly came, they first trained us on many issues including clearing concerns by saying that the money is not conditional. It let us be free to utilize the money the way we would love. I think that their approach of teaching us before sending the money was the reason why we succeeded in the ways we had challenges in
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the money I received on paying school fees for my children in university and secondary school. By the time I was receiving the money, I was planning to sell a piece of my land in order to pay school fees for him. It came at the time that I needed it the most. I then bought foodstuffs for the household.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have bought a dairy cow which I did not have before and I used to buy milk from my neighbors and it was costly for me. I do casual jobs in the village and the amount of money I got was so small and it could not gather for all the basic household needs. Currently, I have enough milk for my family and I sell the surplus to pay school fees for my children and to meet other basic needs of my family.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the money I felt so happy. I remember vividly it was very early in the morning when I received the message and when I checked, it was money from GiveDirectly. I did not believe my eyes. Sometime back, many organizations had taken our names with promises of helping us in one way or another. None of them was able to accomplish this and the residents were almost giving up on anyone who came around with such promises. We had reluctantly agreed to be part of GiveDirectly's program hoping against hope that they were going to keep their promise and sure enough they did. My children were so happy because they knew I would clear their school fees in time and give them an opportunity to at least study full time in school at least for once.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on paying school fees for my two children, one in secondary school and the other in college and the rest of the money was used to buy a dairy cow and food for the family.
